Robert Passovoy, M.D.

Philosophy

The practice of Medicine is far more than diagnosing diseases and “pushing pills”.  It demands willingness on the doctor’s part to learn about the people in his care and to see them as unique individuals with varied life changes.  Only by listening, learning and teaching each other can a doctor and patient arrive at the best health care outcomes possible. Dr. Passovoy listens.

Biography

Dr. Passovoy earned his MD degree from the University of Maryland in 1972 and completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center (now Rush University) in 1975.  Following one year in Nephrology, he served as the Assistant Medical Director of the RPSL Emergency Department.

Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Passovoy is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Rush, serving as a clinical preceptor in the Rush Ambulatory Care program.  He is a senior faculty member of the Advanced Cardiac Life Support program certified by the American Heart Association at Rush.  His practice concentrates on adult medicine and he sees patients from age 17 to 100 and beyond.  He serves on the MacNeal Informatics Committee and wishes his computers would do what he wanted them to do instead of what he tells them to do.
