Biography
Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Charles Bareis received his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After serving as Chief Medicine Resident at Hines VA Hospital, he completed a General Internal Medicine Fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in 1992. A participant in MacNeal Hospital’s residency teaching program, Dr. Bareis credits his father, who taught archeology at the University of Illinois at Champaign, for his desire to teach. He also credits three of his uncles, who are physicians, with sparking his interest in medicine at an early age. As he puts it, "I saw how much they enjoyed their work… and they gave me a very good impression of the field."
